Project Details
SA Water’s Hope Valley Reservoir and water filtration plant has been operating for close to 50 years.
As specified by SA Water, Denso Australia supplied the corrosion protection for its gate valve, the largest in South Australia.
The old 60” inch valve is the only one in the state so replacement over refurbishment was the only option.
Since the main feed pipe is a 1500mm diameter pipe, the selected local family contractor were contracted to fabricate two 1500mm down to 1200mm reducers that would enable the use of a smaller 1200mm gate valve.
Both reducers were wrapped with the Densopol 60 Bitumen Tape System, and the flanges bolted to the valve were coated with the Denso Petrolatum Tape and Profiling Mastic System.
